Why would someone want to stay in “town” when they have the serenity and vistas that Sandbaai has to offer, and best of all – 2 great beaches in easy walking distance, PLUS a great ocean walkway!

I spent my summer holidays there from age 10 about till about mid 20s. My parents had a little house there. It had and still has a nicer atmosphere and has wonderful snorkeling places Hermanus does not have. The people are much more friendly and everybody knew everyone else, even if you never actually met. Certainly is a nicer place to live, coming from someone who lived in both places. When driving from Hermanus to Onrust, even now, it is like driving into the Sea of Tranquility.
