Maybe you missed that? The Conventions Bureau was probably the only successful and fully-functional division that was transferred from CTRU. It had a long track record of success, helped of course by the most popular convention centre in Africa. But if you look at the Provincial Treasury’s Quarterly Performance Reports, the stats show that Wesgro has fallen short of its conference bids targets for the past 2 quarters, achieving only about 50% and 20% for those quarters.

You can not get the conventions center for 5 days unless 3 years out and I know we just worked with Wesgro for 4 months to secure our 2000 delegate strong convention for 2016. AND no we did not look for our partners and city officials via a website.

The new ‘Tourism logo’ “CAPE TOWN and the Western Cape marketed by Wesgro” leaves a lot to be desired. Sounds like “Steers marketed by Famous Brands”!!
