The Psychedelic Theatre’s flame dancers are back to light up the Garden Theatre at the Afrikaanse Taalmonument in Paarl with their seventh “Dans van die Vlamme“ show on Saturday the 27th of December.
Actor and founding member of the Psychedelic Theatre, Marvin Lee-Beukes, says that after the success of their shows in Cape Town last season they have been hard at work choreographing new acts and performing them all around Cape Town and in Namibia.
”After being invited to perform this unique and spectacular show at the Rocking the Daisies festival our flame dancers and fire breathers are excited to ignite the imagination of our audience at the top of Paarl Mountain once again. The lights of Paarl will be the backdrop for our performance with burning hula-hoops, poi, palm candles, fire snakes and live acoustic music. We are looking forward to welcoming the locals, the tourists and holidaygoers to the Taalmonument to experience a spectacular night out with beautiful scenery and a breathtaking sunset, a picnic and of course a fire dance phenomenon.”
The picnic starts at 18:00. The performance starts at 20:30 in the Garden Theatre on the lawn right next to the monument. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or they can order one from Volksmond Coffee Shop (tel. 021 863 2800). Coffee, beer, wine and light refreshments will be for sale. Flow toys including hula hoops and poi will also be for sale.
