It's been a busy few months. First there was the Chinese invasion – spambots by the gigabytes which had to be identified and their access blocked. It's become an ongoing job!
And CapeInfo moves to a new server at the end of March – which involves a big cleanup before the move. Since most of CapeInfo's content is now delivered by Amazon Web Services' cloud servers spread around the world, the main server is being relocated from London to Cape Town – which will have four times the processing power and eight times the RAM – meaning the site will be much, much faster for South African readers.
If you have content on CapeInfo, please scroll down to "Housekeeping" to see how that affects you.
Have you visited any of the towns below? They're all finalists in the SA Destination Awards, and this is the last week to tell us what you think about them. Please go and write a review!
Remember, it's not votes that count but what you tell us in your review. We want to know what you think about these towns. You need to have registered and be logged in to write a review. The review links are the bottom of each entry.
The finalists, in alphabetical order, are:

If you have a directory entry on CapeInfo, please make sure it's up-to-date:
If you do have directory content and no URL is shown above, please let us know.
IMPORTANT: If your entry was added some years ago and does not make use of the image gallery, but rather small images located within the copy, these will stop showing within the next week. You need to add new photos using the image gallery. Click here for instructions.
We have advised advertisers several times over the past several months of the intention to phase these photographs out, and the need to use the image gallery.
Server change: There should be no interruption in CapeInfo's availability during the changeover, but registration, login and editing access will be closed for a period of less than 24 hours during the changeover. We're hoping this will end up being about four hours, which will be at night. CapeInfo status will be shown on the home page during this period.
Live Chat: All registered users have access to Live Chat while logged in. Clicking on the bubble or the bar below it (shown alongside) allows you to get answers to questions immediately. No more emails to-and-fro trying to get help. You can get rid of the the orange bubble if it's too intrusive by clicking on x, but the bar below it remains if you need help.
And as usual, if you're looking for help, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions.
