The is marketed as the Kouga Region – which means little to most people, and is often confused with Coega, the industrial area on the other side of Port Elizabeth.
But it's a region that includes the iconic town of Jeffreys Bay, renown worldwide as a surfing mecca. It includes the sublime Gamtoos Valley, eastern gateway to the Baviaanskloof World Heritage Site, with the towns of Hankey and Patensie. And St Francis with its Bay, its Port and its Cape.
