Nestled against a mountainside and bordering a nature reserve Makapa Lodge is conveniently positioned for all tourist sites only 35mins from Cape Town centre. A guest house with luxury rooms and a quaint self catering log cabin, it is set in a landscaped garden with secure off road parking and 5 self contained units. The Lodge overlooks the Noordhoek amphitheatre and beyond to Noordhoek beach and the Atlantic Ocean. There are mountains to each side of us and we have a fine view of Chapmans Peak with its popular and scenic coastal drive.
Our three Poolside Suites - The Oakwood, The Oregon, and The Cottonwood comprise separate lounge, bedroom and bathrooms. The custom, locally made, wooden furniture is of oak, Oregon pine and cotton woods hence the suite names. Each lounge has comfortable chairs, a desk, coffee table, tea and coffee making facilities, a flat screen TV and well stocked mini bars. The bedrooms have double or twin beds, dressing tables and spacious wardrobes. The modern bathrooms all have shower over baths. The poolside suites each have two private patio areas one of which is adjacent to the swimming pool.
The Garden Room is full of character and seems to float in the centre of our tranquil indigenous garden. You enter the double aspect sunny lounge area from a quaint rustic patio.
