The Windermere brings a sense of style and occasion to this historic port city. On entering one enters a calm oasis cosseted away from the busy world outside. Designed with elements of contempory chic and decorated with custom made fittings and furniture, the nine large luxury bedrooms provide spacious sitting areas, mini bars ,satellite TV, DVD, air conditioning and heating, safes and a dedicated IT port (the entire hotel is also wireless compatible) . Enjoy breakfast al fresco in the courtyard or indoors, a room service menu is available for light lunches and dinners, however most guests enjoy the luxury of choice and ask for a reservation at some of the city’s top restaurants – some within walking distance. After a busy day retreat to the calm of The Windermere – have a dip in the pool and enjoy a chilled glass of wine in the stylish bar! The friendly team are on hand to provide you with unobtrusive service around the clock.

Located in Humewood, The Windermere is ideally positioned to give you easy access to the airport, beaches, casino, golf courses and city centre.

Some of the finest beaches on the Indian Ocean rim are situated just across the street from The Windermere! This luxury oasis is also the perfect base from which to explore Port Elizabeth’s varied historical, cultural and natural attractions. PE (as the city is known to the locals) is also well known for its great sporting facilities – the world famous Humewood Golf Club is 5 minutes away from The Windermere so is South Africa’s oldest cricket test match venue St Georges Park and of course the brand new soccer stadium. On the cultural front , like many port cities, it is very cosmopolitan, the most widely spoken language in the area is Xhosa – PE was at the forefront of the anti apartheid struggle as well as being the landing point of the 1820 British Settlers - as a result there are fantastic cultural and historical tours available. Make sure to leave time to go on a safari (Addo and other big 5 reserves less than an hours drive) also go on for a fabulous dolphin and whale watching trip in Algoa Bay.
