 DankiPa Lodge – Self catering units:

1. These luxurious, spacious, earthy and stunning town house style self catering private units are unique in many regards. As an eco estate all materials used in construction as far as possible has been recycled, refurbished, made by local tradesmen, or repurposed. It includes lots of rare recycled  1000 year plus old Cape yellow wood – in an attempt to further preserve them. Solid wood dining and outdoor tables, some antique furniture, valuable paintings and beautiful/functional art and craft.

   The rooms have solid beds, headpieces and decent mattresses, with a minimum 5 year guarantee. Large mirrors and dressing tables. Cotton linen. Steel frame cupboards with large drawers and some surprises...

   The kitchen is large open plan; well equipped with porcelain tops, ample storage, floating/rolling Island, and catering for up to 12 people. Fridge, microwave, oven, kettle, toaster, stove and some surprises.....

   The walls are natural earthy colours that breathe.  The roofs are insulated.  The beautiful floors are easy cleanable, insulated, moulted concrete look.  The unit is aligned with the prevailing on shore winds so that a fresh draft can almost always be arranged. 

The units includes: DSTV (family package), Wi-Fi Internet, undercover parking, patio/braai area, private yard / garden, and private laundry room / storage area with washing machine.

In line with our green strategy, which includes rainwater harvesting, green building, gas ovens and – geysers, as well as grey water irrigation, the units are equipped with a single bathroom that incorporates a large shower to conserve water.

 2          DankiPa self catering Guest House is called : “MERCIA”

 This luxurious, spacious, over 500m², modern 7-bedroom, 5-bathroom, guest house, is fully furnished and fully equipped and includes:  DSTV (family package) and Wi-Fi Internet.  The rooms have solid beds, headpieces and decent mattresses, with a minimum 5 year guarantee. Spacious kitchen with pantry, scullery, dishwasher etc... is large open plan; well equipped with porcelain / stainless steel tops, ample storage, floating/rolling Island, and catering for up to 30 people. Fridge (fridge and freezer drawer for each room over and above the bar fridge in the room), microwave, oven, toaster, stove and some surprises.....

Special features includes:  TV / Lounge Area which is an old original Dutch farm house (“Hartebeeshuisie” – over 200 years old), indoor- and outdoor braai areas, 2 dining areas and 2 lounge areas. The beautiful house contains much valuable art, antique furniture, as well as over 30 tons of Cape yellowwood (all bed bases, some beams and many unique furnishings etc).  Huge private garden with Koi pond. Complete with undercover parking, and private laundry room / storage area with washing machine.  Breathtaking views and lots of private areas.

    The units are available for longer periods at the following rates.

• Water, gas and electricity provided:  Electrical heaters, blankets and tumble dryers are not permitted, due to our green strategy.  Gas heaters supplied if required.  DankiPa’s water is harvested rain water and triple filtered to provide you with healthy living water straight from our internal taps.  All outdoor taps should be considered unhealthy.

• Unique Furniture, valuable art, cutlery, crockery, cookery and bedding is supplied. Bed linen and towels are changed weekly.  On a 1-week stay, before and after your stay. On a 2-week stay, mid-stay as well.

• Access to: Very large lawns, walkways, conservatories and gardens.  Gardens include:  Cycads-, Aloes-, and one of the largest succulent collections in the Western Cape as well as a natural yellow wood conservatory.  Bird watching - fish eagles, spoon bills, geese and many other species can be observed almost daily.  Indoor swimming pool and entertainment area.

• Office services:  Posting, post collecting, copies, printing, ... basic stationary etc. is available at our office at the current rates which are available from the office.

• Laundry services – Each unit has a laundry room with a washing machine included and safe lockable washing lines.

• Cleaning service.  R 75.00 for a session up to 2 hours.  Maids will arrive between 10:00am and 4:00pm. Maids will generally tidy the apartment.  Maids will always appreciate a tip.

• Car wash and vacuum, light treatment at R 55.00.  Pre arrange with office.

2. Policies of DankiPa:

   1. Check-in time:  14h00 – 18h00.

   2. Check-out time: 07h00 – 10h00.

   3. Pre payment:

      1. A booking deposit of 50% of the total amount is payable on booking. 

      2. The balance is to be paid at least 4 weeks before arrival date.  A discount of 7.5% is applicable on this 50% if you pay it with you booking deposit. 

      3. A refundable breakage deposit of R950.00 is payable on day of arrival and will be refunded within two weeks of your departure as provided for in the accommodation letting agreement.

      4. For bookings within 6 weeks, full payment is required.

   4. General Booking Terms & Conditions.

      The Guest agrees by way of our formal letting agreement to our terms and conditions of stay, of which the following are the key elements :

      1. Not to deface, make any alterations or additions to the interior or exterior of the premises or to the decoration, fixtures or fittings of the Premises or to the furniture.

      2. To keep the art works, furniture, soft furnishings, cutlery, crockery and equipment in their present state of repair and condition and to replace with similar articles of at least the equivalent value and standard, any items of furniture which may be found to be missing or destroyed (reasonable wear and tear accepted).

      3. Not to remove any of the content from its present position around on the premises. (Specifically: Furniture, Linen, Crockery and cutlery)

      4. To use the premises as a private residence for up to the amount of persons specified only, and not for any other purposes whatsoever. Additional persons may not be accommodated unless by prior arrangement.

      5. Not to do or permit to be done anything which may be a nuisance or annoyance or cause of damage to any neighbouring property, unit/room, plant, person or animal.

      6. That the Security Deposit refund will be reduced; if there are any breakages or damages to the apartment or contents; if any apartment contents are missing; or if excessive cleanup is required.

      7. To report any breakages or damages to the PROPERTY MANAGER as soon as they occur so that they can be resolved as soon as possible.

      8. That for hygienic reasons, a wet mattress will result in the RENTER being charged for a new mattress. Mattress covers are available from the office.

      9. That no eating will be allowed in the bedrooms.

      10. That no smoking will be allowed inside the apartment. Please restrict smoking to the patio/braai area and note that: Damage from cigarette burns will be charged at full replacement cost to the RENTER, and evidence of smoking will result in steam cleaning charges of smelly material.

      11. Suntan lotion, Oils & Creams: Take care not to sit on apartment furniture and bedding when using these products as they are impossible to remove from upholstery. We appreciate your cooperation to maintain the high standard of the apartment for your next visit.

3. Cancellation

   :               Less than 2 weeks prior to arrival date – 100% of full cost retained.

Between 2-4 weeks prior to arrival date – 75% of full cost retained.

More than 4 weeks prior to arrival date – 50% of full cost retained.

   All children welcome.  Extra beds not available.

    

2. Pets: 

   Regret no pets as it is a bird and plant sanctuary.
