Gabus, the name derived from the Bushman language, meaning the place of water, in a land usually associated with desert and dry landscape.

The farmland of Gabus in Namibia is situated at the foot of the Uisib mountains, approximately 10km from the little town of Otavi on the D3031 road. Ideally situated en route to Etosha or the Caprivi, the lodge is easily accessible from the B1 tarred road from Windhoek. Signposts along the way indicate the direction towards the lodge. Whether it be your first stop on arrival in Namibia, to get acclimatized, or your last stop before departure back home, this is the perfect place to stay. Extended stays of a couple of days or more are the ideal way to get the most of your visit.

The lodge has risen on the 6000 ha farming land close to Otavi, This is the place where the weary traveler may stop for an unexpected refreshment and revitalization of body and soul.

On arrival the garden arises like an unexpected green oasis after a long travel and a feeling of surprise and arrival at a destiny settles on the visitor. Beyond the azur blue swimming pool, the first sign of wildlife so close to human activity takes one aback and makes one want to just stand stil to absorb and relish the feeling of completeness that overcomes each guest. Kudu, waterbuck, impala and gnu are hardly disturbed by the movement of visitors around the entertainment area, thus watching the animals arrive for a drink and lick at the saltrock is one of the most relaxing and memorable experiences of a stay.
And to enjoy this pleasurable experience, you have the choice of witnessing nature from the solitude of your own room or alternatively with friends and fellow visitors from the lapa at the pool.
