Skilpad Manor is a charming karoo-style farm house on a portion of the Buffelsfontein Farm in Van Wyksdorp. The house accommodates up to nine people and is a wonderful escape from the big city. It is ideal for those looking to relax in the splendour of the Karoo and enjoy activities like hiking and mountain biking.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering purposes as well as a dishwasher for added convenience. An outside fireplace is ideal for a braai. The house has a lounge area where guests can relax and watch some TV. Should they wish for DStv, guests can bring their own decoders and smart cards.
The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. The third bedroom has three single beds and is linked to room four, which has a queen-size bed. The house has a full bathroom as well as an outside loo with an adjoining shower for the summer months. All linen and towels are provided.
The farm grows and produces jams, chutneys and olives which guests are able to purchase and enjoy the truly country experience. Firewood is also available for purchase.
Van Wyksdorp has two shops and a restaurant. Fresh produce can be ordered and bought from the owner of the restaurant.
