Die Rotse Host House & Self Catering is a seafront property situated on Beach Road, Kleinmond. Located on a peaceful cul-de-sac bordering the Nature Reserve, Die Rotse Host House & Self-Catering provides the perfect beach holiday. A 40 meter stroll will lead you to a natural tidal swimming pool and large inter-coastal tidal zone for hours of exploring in the unique eco-system of the Kelp forest. Follow the coastal path from here to Kleinmond's Blue Flag beach only 300 meters away.
The main residence of your hosts, Werner and Lorraine Pauw, is a historic building with 'Landmark Status' built in early 1910 and totally restored under the guidance of the Overstrand Aesthetics Committee and is known as 'Die Rotse'.
In line with the look and feel of 'Die Rotse', two fully equiped 3 bedroom apartments, known as Spykerklip and Drievis makes up the rest of the complex. The accommodation includes a double garage that can house a ski-boat and two private garages for guests. The two apartments share a spacious communal Barbeque area fully equiped with separate braai/bbq facilities including a 'Weber' mobile barbeque unit. This facility also has an outside toilet with wash basin. There is a separate barbeque area under the canopy of a fig tree next to the kiddies' playground.
Spykerklip is an upper level apartment and our deluxe accommodation, boasting an en-suite main bedroom with an infinity view overlooking the ocean and 2 bedrooms overlooking the Kogelberg mountain range. A second full bathroom serves the mountian view bedrooms. All bedrooms are extended by joined balconies – the 2 mountain rooms share a balcony facing the mountain whilst the main bedroom shares a balcony with the open plan living room and lounge and offers an unobstructed sea view. The fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances has a clear view of both sea and mountain.
DRIEVIS
Drievis is a ground level apartment with 3 spacious bedrooms; the main bedroom has en-suite walk-in shower with toilet and wash basin and a single modern bathroom complete with an antique free standing bath and shower serves bedrooms 2&3.The main bedroom is sea facing and extends onto a patio overlooking the ocean. The second bedroom overlooks the garden and kiddies playground whilst the third bedroom allows easy access with a separate outside door leading onto the sunny stoep / patio area adjoining the barbeque area. The fully equipped modern open plan kitchen / living room is extended onto a sea facing patio with an unobstructed view of the inter-coastal tidal zone.

Where all the superlatives still don't do justice!
This is a place where there is the danger of using just too many superlatives... it ticks all the boxes!
The location right on the coast overlooking the rocks - with all the drama of waves breaking and a seal colony perched on the rocks - while the main Blue Flag beach is just a short walk away.
The historic main house - one of the first in Kleinmond - has been restored with outstanding attention to detail. The two guest apartments reflect the same attention to detail and quality. We've stayed in much more expensive accommodation, with extensive design input, but we've never stayed anywhere where taste and style hit all the right buttons to create superlative comfort. And the kitchen is better-equipped than many first homes!
It changed our attitude to Kleinmond. Die Rotse cannot be recommended highly enough.
