The Self-Catering two bedroom and three bedroom Log Cabins/chalets, are located on the Touws river in the Wilderness on the world Famous Garden Route.

The cabins are only 1 minutes’ drive (10min walk) from the beach and 10 min drive from the Garden Route Mall.

Main Property:

The chalets are fully self-catering , with fresh linen weekly and Bath towels daily (if required), excluding weekends and public holidays.

You have your very own private deck overlooking the Touws river. There is a TV with local station available, fully fitted Kitchen.

There is a shared bathroom in the 2 bedroom chalets and 1.5 bathrooms in the 3 bedroom chalets

 

The Space/In room facilities

The main suite has access out onto the deck and fitted with a Double bed. The second room has 2 single (twin) beds, ideal for the kids!

For the 3 bedroom chalets the room is located on the ground floor and has a cupboard and either double bed or two twin beds

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the chalet they rent and all the common areas in the resort, including the pool! There are pool loungers for use by the guests

We supply the canoes for river adventuring (optional extra at own risk)

There is a small but fun play area for the children at the pool area as well as BBQ facilities for our guests.

 

Interaction with guests

You will have access to the receptionist and these people will be available during office hours only.

To make sure you fully experience what the Wilderness area in South Africa has to offer, you can pre book your day trips to Knysna, Mossell Bay, George, Cango Caves, Zoo and Reptile farms.

Neighbourhood Overview

The Wilderness is very relaxed and friendly! The local hangouts are chilled and the live local bands are brilliant. Having spent time in the UAE and the UK I can confidently state "you will have a blast here and best of all the beer and wine is cheap compared to Europe and the Middle East". 

The area is reasonably safe compared to the metropolitan areas like Johannesburg but if you are looking for trouble, it will find you!

We have a pharmacy about 2 minutes away from the chalet by car and a doctor about 3 minutes away during business hours.

 

Getting Around

We recommend you hire a car but if you feel like using our in-house transport, you will need to book it in advance, alternatively you can use private taxi's! - All services are an optional extra cost

We can supply you with brochures, and travel tips at the front reception area.

International Guests Simply Call Us and we will arrange everything and have it ready for you on arriving at the airport.

You need to Fly into South Africa, landing at either Cape town International or OR Tambo (Johannesburg International Airport) and catch a connecting flight to George Wilderness . Remember to Book your flights and connecting flights prior to setting off to Sunny South Africa.

Don’t Forget your International Drivers Licence and NO need to worry about malaria or any other funky stuff... Wilderness Rocks! Just in case of emergency or allergies, send us your medical aid details, so we can have it on record.

Room Summary Description

The 2 bedroom log cabins (chalet) consist of an open plan kitchen /lounge with 2 bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The bathroom consists of a toilet, basin and bath, with bath towels only.

The main suite has a wardrobe and double bed with weekly fresh linen supplied. The room open out onto your deck, with a lovely river view. Some rooms have mirrors in the main suite.

The second room consists of two single beds (twin beds) and a cupboard and dresser. Some of the rooms have mirrors.

The lounge can seat 3 people comfortably and the kitchen has a breakfast nook with 3 chairs to use. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove and gas kettle. All your basic cutlery and crockery is available for 6 settings.

The deck has a table and chairs for you to use. Off the deck there is a BBQ overlooking the river.

 

Directions:

Follow the N2 from George to Knysna. You will pass the Spar on your left, then go over the Touws River Outlet bridge (see the wilderness beach to your right.

You will pass Anchorage lane and the very next road to the left (about 230m) you will see a Green Roof Structure on your left.

That is Joplins Restaurant. Turn in and immediately to the right, to face the Big Black Gates with the reception on your right.
