Eleven invited artists explore the always-eluding essence of external and internal being of things in existence. An exploration of the essential nature and individual forces
of their art and subject matter through various mediums in this group exhibition.
Thematically the artists investigate the psyche of humanity, but also the individual approach to this effect and therefore bringing their own soul into play. Aspects of psyche and soul thus become clearer, but at the same time growing complexity and mystery make its way into the consciousness of the participating artists. The artists use visual and verbal metaphors in flux in order to escape a fundamentalist presentation of life through generalised art.
Participating artists in this group exhibition are:
Clare Menck, Strijdom van der Merwe, Anton Smit, Shany van den Berg, Cobus van Bosch, Peter van Straten, Elizabeth Miller-Vermeulen, Nicholas Esterhuizen, Adriaan Diedericks, Sam Lefaso Macholo, and Hanneke Benade. Mediums include Lino, drawing, painting and sculpture.
