To savour is to taste good food and wine and to enjoy it to the full, and this is exactly what your taste buds will be thanking you for at the inaugural SAVOUR Stellenbosch Valley – an engaging showcase of the area’s diverse culinary and cellar offerings – on Saturday, 27 September.
The historic Neethlingshof Estate will be transformed into a sensory rendezvous of food and wines unique to the area, when more than 15 wine estates from this prized valley will muster their finest assets for a one night only celebration of all things epicurean.
The Stellenbosch Valley is home to a myriad of renowned wine estate, hotels and restaurants and was crowned South Africa’s finest winegrowing area at the Novare SA Terroir Wine Awards in 2012 and 2014.
At SAVOUR Stellenbosch Valley guests will engage their senses with local favourites such as Neethlingshof, Zevenwacht, Bein Private Cellar, Stellekaya, Van Ryn’s, De Waals, JC Le Roux, Fleur du Cap at Bergkelder, Middelvlei and others. The various rooms of the Manor House, a national monument, will be brimming with a spectacular array of wines, tasting dishes and decadent treats ranging from braai delights and savoury canapés to caramel crunch meringues and cupcakes.
The event starts at 16h00 and ends at 21h00 and tickets cost R300 per person, which include a tasting glass, wine tastings, sumptuous dishes and live music entertainment by the talented blues maestro, Gerald Clark, Luna Paige and Rick Stander.
