Tiaan's Camp

Tiaan's Camp, a real oasis at the western entry gate of the great Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, right on the Boteti river. Where the elphants swim in the river and the lions roar at night. The ideal stop over for self drive tourists in Khumaga on the way from South Africa to the Okavango Delta.

Book one of our 6 twin chalets situated in our established garden. We also offer 8 shaded campsites. Enjoy a cold drink in the bar or book breakfast & dinner in our restaurant. Take your binoculars and a good book up to the lounge on top with a view over the Boteti. And jump into the swimming pool to cool down, relax and reflect on the game drive and the great day you had here in Khumaga.

Our chalets are widely spaced from each other in the garden, twin beds under a spacious mosquito net, en-suite bathroom where you can shower under the stars, furnished with tea and coffee facilities with a kettle, electric plug to charge your batteries, desk and chair, suitcase rack, shelve and cloth hangers.

We have a bar & restaurant (book your meals in advance), swimming pool, viewing deck & lounge, shaded campsites with water & power connection and a braai grid, fire place, toilets and showers at the campsite, hot and cold running water, we sell fire wood.

Tiaan's Camp is on the Boteti river. You will find us in Khumaga village (google Xhumaga) GPS coordinates: S20° 28.165’  E24° 30.875’  (Xhumaga). Khumaga is a tranquil village where about 1000 Batswana live, 140 km south east from Maun, on the main route from South Africa via Khama Rhino Sanctuary (380 km from Tiaan’s Camp). 

You can reach us via tarred road (B300) and only the last 1 km is on a dirt road, easy access, no need for a 4x4 vehicle. If you come from the park side and the water is low you can easily drive through the river, otherwise use the ferry.

Game Viewing and Tranquillity. Easy access to Makgadikgadi Pans National Parks right opposite the river, and easy day drive distances to Nxai Pans National Park (90km away) and the Kalahari Game Reserve (110 km away). Game drives, walks and village walks
