Hidden amongst the trees overlooking the Knysna River Valley, with breathtaking views of the Outeniqua Mountains beyond, Velvet Moon Cottage is the perfect place to unwind.  A truly unique location and setting makes this cottage incredibly special.

Whether you are looking for romance or relaxation, an activity packed holiday or simply a place to reconnect your soul with nature, you will find it here. Wake up to the call of the fish eagle and watch the Knysna Loeries hopping through the branches of the trees, while the river below holds its own surprises. You may be lucky enough to see otters and even the occasional seal swimming upstream.

A beautiful and peaceful setting 8 minutes from Knysna, the cottage is completely private and is a perfect romantic hideaway.

Your home away from home

Kitchen: Kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave, electric oven and hob, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, dishcloths, washing up soap etc. 

Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, orange juice, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar - enough to get you started. 

Lounge: Smart TV, DVD, radio 

Upstairs verandah: Wooden table with four chairs, weber braai 

Downstairs: Outdoor braai area with second covered verandah, extra chairs, second fridge and washing machine. Private outdoor hot and cold shower. 



Bedrooms: Towels, bedding and linen, extra blankets. 

Toiletries: soap, shampoo, hand cream and toilet paper, just in case you forgot to pack your own. 

The cottage is self catering and not serviced daily so guests are expected to provide their own but we don't like to leave them empty handed especially on the first night. Fridge may be stocked with special requests at an additional charge. 

Service fee of R200 is charged for single night bookings.
