As the Cape Town City Ballet celebrates it’s 80th Birthday, these performances will trace, in dance, the 80 years of this company, from its inception in 1934, by Dr Dulcie Howes, as the University of Cape Town Ballet Co., to its status as a fully professional ballet company – the CAPAB Ballet Co. – from 1963 to 1997, until its present status of South Africa’s National Ballet Company as the Cape Town City Ballet.
