Oupa Attie's Guest House is a converted South African Railways residential dwelling dating back to the 1900's and is situated at Malanstasie alongside the main railway line from Cape Town to the North. Regular train services pass by, including the exclusive Blue Train and Rovos Rail heading as far as Victoria Falls and Dar es Salaam.
The property includes an olive grove of some 500 trees that produce olives commercially. Wine-producing vineyards surround the property, which is 7 kilometers from the historical town of Wellington.
